Harper Lane, Radlett reopened on Tuesday 4th May.
Harper Lane was closed on the request of Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) due to pedestrian safety concerns. These concerns arose as result of HGV collisions with northbound pedestrian crossing on Watling Street.
The junction is now open with a normal flow of traffic in all lanes.
The new scheme includes additional road width to allow for the introduction of left and right turn filter lanes and the latest ‘MOVA’ system which will optimise capacity through the junction and regularise vehicle movements for road user’s safety.
The current junction arrangement will be subject to six months of monitoring (commenced at a time normal traffic flows return, following COVID restrictions easing) after which time it will be made permanent or removed if unsuccessful. Therefore, after this period of monitoring, the final works will require the closure of the junction again. This will be for a short period only and will be necessary in order to deliver the consented scheme.
Bloor Homes is aware of the disruption that has been caused to residents and businesses during the necessary closure of Harper Lane and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.
